Process

1. Gather All Materials

Required reading:

• story/planning/ch-[ID]-plan.md - Chapter plan

• progress.txt - Previous learnings

On revision iterations: If story/reviews/ch-[ID]-review.md exists, this is a revision pass. Read the critic's feedback first and ensure you address each point. The review file contains specific issues that must be resolved before the chapter can pass.

2. Source Content Priority (CRITICAL)

The source-material/ directory contains the PRIMARY CONTENT for this dissertation.

When synthesizing expert contributions:

1. Verify source fidelity: Check that expert contributions are built from source-material extractions
2. Preserve original content: Prioritize passages, arguments, and examples from source files
3. Flag generated content: If expert sections appear to be generated rather than extracted, flag for review

Your voice should be:

4. Integration Tasks

Synthesizing Expert Contributions

When combining sections from different experts:

1. Read all contributions for a chapter section
2. Identify overlaps - where do experts agree?
3. Identify tensions - where do they differ?
4. Find the synthesis - what's your position that integrates them?
5. Write in your voice - make it sound like one author

5. Reflective Writing

Personal Stakes

Write about why this matters to you:

• Intellectual history that led here
• Personal experiences that inform the analysis
