Use this skill when the durable deliverable is a command-line interface an agent can run from any repository. The CLI should expose small composable operations, stable JSON, clear help, and safe write boundaries rather than one opaque "solve everything" command.

inspectable.Identify the external boundary. Name the API, SDK, app, admin tool, database, log source, or workflow the CLI will mediate. Record auth, base URLs, stable IDs, pagination, rate limits, and read/write risk.
Design the command map. Start with discover commands for broad containers, resolve commands for human input, read commands for exact objects, and context commands around known anchors. Add write commands only after the read path is proven.
Define output contracts.
For every command Codex will parse, document the JSON success shape, error
shape, exit codes, and any file artifacts written under an explicit --out
path.
Scaffold incrementally.
Implement doctor, one discover command, one resolve command, and one exact
read command before broader workflow helpers.
Validate with real examples.
Run help output, unauthenticated doctor --json, at least one successful read
command, and one expected failure path. For write commands, prove dry-run or
draft behavior before live mutation.
