Stoneburner Model QA
Use this skill when evaluating whether a model is suitable for an AI-backed
application, workflow, gate, or challenge.
Core Principle
"The model responds" is not enough. Separate model health, function behavior,
and full workflow compatibility.
Use these labels:
UNTESTED: no evidence for this exact model/backend/target.
FUNCTION_COMPATIBLE: provider health and individual AI-mediated checks pass.
WALKTHROUGH_COMPATIBLE: the full user-facing or operator-facing workflow
passes repeated rounds.
TOO_SAFE_FOR_CHAIN: model refuses/redacts behavior the evaluated workflow
intentionally expects.
UNSAFE_GATE_BEHAVIOR: model approves unsafe actions or blocks intended safe
paths.
BROKEN_RUNTIME: model times out, emits unparsable output, or breaks
orchestration.
Recommended Workflow
- Verify provider health:

- Run QA fixtures:

- Run adversarial or sweep when comparing models:

- For promotion evidence, prefer repeated rounds:
- Three rounds is the default practical gate.
- Five or more rounds is preferred for nondeterministic behavior.
Evidence Packet
Record only sanitized evidence:
- model tag and backend class
- provider or target profile name
- fixture suite or workflow name
- pass/fail/skip counts
- compatibility label
- redacted snippets if useful
- cleanup/stabilization result if the target has side effects
Do not record secrets, private IPs, customer endpoints, flags, raw tokens,
unreleased exploit payloads, or full logs that expose private target details.
Interpretation Rules
- Passing
provider-test means runtime health only.
- Passing
atomics qa for individual prompts may mean FUNCTION_COMPATIBLE.
- Full application or challenge promotion requires the actual end-to-end
workflow to pass.
- A model that refuses an intentionally expected vulnerable behavior may be
TOO_SAFE_FOR_CHAIN, not broken.
- A model that passes a walkthrough but fails negative controls is
UNSAFE_GATE_BEHAVIOR, not compatible.
