Figure Style
Use this skill before producing or revising any plot.
Checklist:
- Pick the chart type from the data shape and claim, not from decoration.
- Label axes with units, define transformations, and show uncertainty or replicate structure when available.
- Use color only for meaningful grouping; keep palettes accessible and consistent across panels.
- Render the plot and inspect text, tick labels, legends, clipping, and overplotting before saving.
- Save both the image and the code/data needed to regenerate it.
A polished plot with unverifiable data is not acceptable. Preserve provenance first.
