Use this skill before producing or revising any plot.

Checklist:

Pick the chart type from the data shape and claim, not from decoration.
Label axes with units, define transformations, and show uncertainty or replicate structure when available.
Use color only for meaningful grouping; keep palettes accessible and consistent across panels.
Render the plot and inspect text, tick labels, legends, clipping, and overplotting before saving.
Save both the image and the code/data needed to regenerate it.

A polished plot with unverifiable data is not acceptable. Preserve provenance first.
