/ars:reflect is the feedback loop for a series. Use it after the repo has shipped multiple episodes and you want to tighten the recurring defaults in SERIES_GUIDE.md.
Goal:
SERIES_GUIDE.md only when the evidence is strong enoughBehavior:
SERIES_GUIDE.md first. Treat it as the current hypothesis set for this series.src/episodes/<series>/.npx ars episode stats <series> --all --json to inspect card usage, streaks, coverage, overused types, underused types, and gap signals..ars/analytics/. "Current" means generated today or within the last 24 hours. If the user passed --fresh, always run /ars:analytics --days <N> --fresh before reading old reports. If no current report exists and the repo has YouTube analytics configured, run /ars:analytics first using the requested --days window (default 28). If analytics is unavailable, continue with an episode-only reflection and say so clearly..ars/studio-intents/ as production-feedback evidence. Group them by target.epId, target.anchorType, feedback.kind, feedback.severity, repeated message themes, and available resolution.summary / resolution.changedFiles / resolution.beforeExcerpt / resolution.afterExcerpt. Exclude feedback.kind === 'build-trigger' from heuristic analysis.resolution, mark it as "intent-only evidence" in the memo. You may infer the rough problem from feedback.message and target metadata, but do not claim exact before/after..ars/competitor/ when present. If no report exists but source URLs or competitor artifacts are available, use the helper CLI (npx ars competitor search --q <query>, npx ars competitor channel --id <channelId>, or npx ars competitor captions --video-id <id>) and write/read a durable competitor report. There is no separate /ars:competitor workflow; /ars:reflect owns this evidence-gathering path. If competitor evidence is unavailable, say so in the memo instead of silently omitting it..ars/episodes/<epId>/plan.md files to understand intended audience, angle, and CTA.Outputs:
.ars/reflect/<YYYY-MM-DD>-<days>d.md. The memo is the reflection journal: observations, evidence, hypotheses, uncertainties, intent patterns, and rejected or still-unproven lessons all belong here.--no-guide-update, patch SERIES_GUIDE.md with high-confidence rule updates only. SERIES_GUIDE.md is not the journal; it should contain operational defaults future plan/build/review runs can follow.Required memo sections:
## Window## Evidence## What seems to work## What seems weak## Proposed guide updates## Confidence and caveatsEvidence expectations:
## Evidence, include any repeated Studio intent patterns that affected the reflection, such as "3 content intents across recent Claude Code episodes asked for workflow clarification" or "multiple visual intents were one-off screenshot cleanups and were not used for guide updates."Guide-update rules:
Episode Structure DefaultsCard / Layout HeuristicsPacing RulesCTA PolicyNarration Voice or Visual SystemSERIES_GUIDE.md. Single factual fixes, screenshot masking mistakes, pronunciation fixes, and isolated taste calls belong in the memo unless the same pattern repeats across episodes.SERIES_GUIDE.md unchanged and capture the uncertainty in the memo instead.SERIES_GUIDE.md must be phrased as a rule, default, or checklist item that a future agent can apply. Do not add raw observations like "EP030 needed many fixes" or unresolved hypotheses.Reflection heuristics:
SERIES_GUIDE.md is contradicted by repeated evidence, revise that rule directly instead of appending a duplicate note.Examples of valid outcomes:
