FOOD & BEVERAGE VIDEO SKILL — Seedance 2.0 × Higgsfield
The Core Principle
Don't describe what the food is. Describe the experience of being next to it.
The viewer should feel hungry, thirsty, or envious before they know what they're watching.
The product earns the close-up.
THE 2-SECOND HOOK (non-negotiable)
Every food/bev video must hook in the first 2 seconds.
These are the only proven openers. Pick one:
| Hook Type | Description | Works for |
|---|
| Cheese pull | Stretch moment at its physical peak | Pizza, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pasta |
| Sauce pour | Slow-motion cascade over the hero product | Wings, fries, proteins, desserts |
| Steam reveal | Steam rising from a cut or lid lift | Hot soups, baked goods, coffee, rice bowls |
| Sizzle shot | Product hitting hot surface, immediate reaction | Burgers, steak, eggs, vegetables |
| Crunch frame | First bite captured at peak crunch sound | Chips, crackers, fried anything, cookies |
| Pour shot | Liquid entering glass or vessel | Coffee, cocktails, juice, smoothies, beer |
| Frost/condensation | Droplets on cold surface | Canned drinks, cold brew, ice cream, beer |
| Bubble/fizz | Carbonation breaking surface | Sparkling water, soda, kombucha, champagne |
| Cross-section reveal | Cut through to reveal interior | Fruit, layered desserts, sandwiches, baked goods |
| Swirl | Spoon or tool creating motion in product | Ice cream, yogurt, peanut butter, hummus |
MASTER PROMPT TEMPLATE
SCENE: [specific location — marble kitchen counter / rustic wood table /
outdoor garden table / backlit shelf / dark slate surface]
TIME: [golden hour / morning light / evening / overcast diffused]
SURFACE: [specify material — matte black slate / weathered oak / white marble
with veining / terracotta tile]
PRODUCT: [exact product name + specific visual — "a dark amber bottle of
hot sauce with label forward" not "a bottle of hot sauce"]
LABEL: [forward-facing / 3/4 angle / partially visible / label not shown]
HOOK (0–2s): [choose from hook types above — be specific]
Example: "Overhead shot. Thick golden honey poured from a wooden dipper
onto a stack of ricotta pancakes. Pour starts at 00:00, streams
for 2 full seconds before cut."
CAMERA MOVEMENT: [choose one — slow push-in / pull-back reveal /
overhead static / 45° side tracking / rack focus product-to-bg /
macro extreme close / orbital around hero]
FOCAL LENGTH MOOD: [macro intimate / standard natural / wide environmental]
LIGHTING:
Key light: [warm tungsten 45° / soft north window / ring LED / golden hour]
Fill: [subtle bounce card / natural ambient / no fill — intentional shadow]
Backlight: [backlit for steam/liquid glow / no backlight / warm rim light]
Motivation: [what's the light source in the scene?]
SOUND: [Seedance 2.0 sound direction — most important audio element first]
Primary: [sizzle / pour / crunch / bubble / steam hiss / knife on board]
Secondary: [ambient kitchen / outdoor birds / cafe murmur / silence]
No music: [yes/no — for organic TikTok, no music = more credible]
MONEY SHOT: [the single frame that would work as a static ad — describe exactly]
Example: "Extreme close-up: cross-section of the burger, cut perfectly in half.
Cheese mid-melt, sauce glistening, sesame seeds in focus.
Shallow DOF, background blurred to warm bokeh."
COLOR MOOD: [warm amber / cool clean / earthy natural / bold high-contrast /
muted film / desaturated with one accent color]
DURATION: [2s / 3s / 5s / 8s / 15s — specify per platform need]
PLATFORM FORMAT: [9:16 vertical TikTok/Reels / 1:1 square / 16:9 horizontal YouTube]
BRAND TONE: [indulgent-premium / casual-everyday / health-clean /
nostalgic-comfort / sophisticated / playful]
NICHE PLAYBOOKS BY SUB-CATEGORY
Sauces, Condiments, Dressings
Primary hook: Pour shot or swirl. Always in motion.
Money shot: The sauce on the hero protein, not just the bottle.
Lighting: Warm. The sauce should look rich, not flat.
Sound: The pour, then the sizzle when it hits hot protein.
Example prompt:
SCENE: Matte black slate counter, evening warm light
PRODUCT: Bottle of chipotle hot sauce, label forward, condensation on glass
HOOK (0-2s): Slow-motion pour from bottle directly onto a char-grilled taco,
sauce cascading over blackened chicken, catching the backlight
CAMERA: Start tight on pour at product level, slow pull-back to reveal full taco
LIGHTING: Key warm amber 45° right, strong backlight creating sauce glow effect,
no fill — intentional deep shadows on surface
SOUND: Liquid pour dominant, subtle sizzle from hot taco, no music
MONEY SHOT: Mid-pour frame — sauce suspended in air, backlit to amber gold,
taco fully in focus below, sauce bottle partially frame-left
COLOR MOOD: Warm amber with deep black surface contrast
PLATFORM: 9:16 TikTok
Beverages — Coffee, Tea, Cold Brew
Primary hook: Pour or steam reveal. The vessel matters.
Money shot: Liquid in motion + the cup/can in context (lifestyle, not studio).
Lighting: Morning diffused window light = trust. Golden hour = premium.
Sound: Pour, then bubble/steam, then ambient quiet.
Example prompt:
SCENE: Wooden kitchen table, morning. Natural window light from left.
Hands visible — a mug, a small pour-over dripper, a bag of coffee beans.
PRODUCT: Dark roast coffee bag, label partially visible but not forced forward.
Coffee in motion — not a static product shot.
HOOK (0-2s): Overhead shot. Coffee streams from pour-over into a ceramic mug.
Steam rises immediately. 2-second pour before cut.
CAMERA: Overhead static → cut to 45° side watching steam rise
LIGHTING: Soft north-facing window, no artificial light, intentional warm shadow
SOUND: Water pour, then coffee drip, then steam hiss, then ambient morning silence
MONEY SHOT: 3/4 close of mug with steam, morning light rim-lighting the steam column,
coffee bag softly visible in background bokeh
COLOR MOOD: Muted warm — cream, brown, dark wood
PLATFORM: 9:16 Reels
Beverages — Canned/Bottled Drinks, Soda, Kombucha, Beer
Primary hook: Frost condensation or pour fizz.
Money shot: Can/bottle beaded with condensation, in context (outdoors, social).
Lighting: Cool + backlit for maximum product pop.
Sound: Tab pull, pour fizz, first sip.
Example prompt:
SCENE: Outdoor table, afternoon golden light, concrete surface
PRODUCT: Single can, centered, heavy condensation, label forward
HOOK (0-2s): Macro pull-tab in extreme close-up — audible click + hiss of carbonation
as tab releases, can condensation droplets catching backlight
CAMERA: Extreme macro on tab → pull back to reveal full can in environment
LIGHTING: Warm backlight from sun angle, cool front diffused, rim light on can edge
SOUND: Tab pull click, hiss of carbonation, then liquid pour fizz, then ambient outdoor air
MONEY SHOT: Can pouring into tilted glass, carbonation bubbles rising from bottom,
golden light catching the liquid mid-pour
COLOR MOOD: High contrast — cool can vs warm golden light
PLATFORM: 9:16 TikTok
Snacks, Chips, Crackers
Primary hook: Crunch shot. Sound is the hook.
Money shot: Cross-section or bite mid-action showing interior texture.
Lighting: Side lighting to emphasize texture.
Sound: The crunch is the product. It must be audible and satisfying.
Desserts, Baked Goods
Primary hook: Cross-section reveal or steam from oven.
Money shot: Interior texture — the layers, the crumb, the ooze.
Lighting: Warm. These products live in warm light.
Sound: Crackling crust, ooze pull, cutting board.
Health & Supplements
Primary hook: Pour into glass or product in context (gym, desk, morning routine).
Money shot: Product in use, not product on shelf.
Lighting: Clean. No warm amber — these need to look modern and trustworthy.
Sound: Pour, fizz, or subtle ambient. Never overpowering.
Critical note for supplements: Do not make health claims in the video prompt.
The visual tells the story (energy, clarity, performance) without saying it.
Let the viewer's aspiration do the work.
COMMON MISTAKES
-
No hook in first 2 seconds — The 2s hook isn't a style choice. It's required.
If you don't hook them, they scroll. Every prompt must specify the 0–2s frame.
-
Product as the opening frame — Starting with the label/bottle is a commercial.
Start with the experience of the product. Product appears after the hook earns it.
-
Flat lighting — Food looks dead in flat light. Every prompt needs a key light
direction, a reason for shadows, and for liquids: backlight for translucency.
-
Ignoring sound — Seedance 2.0 generates ambient audio. Sound for food video
is as important as visual. Specify the dominant sound first.
-
Generic descriptions — "A burger on a wooden table" generates nothing memorable.
"A double smash burger, char marks visible, cheese at peak melt, surface of sesame
bun glistening slightly, on matte black slate with a single sprig of pickled jalapeño"
generates a money shot.
-
No money shot specified — Define the single frame you'd use as a static ad.
If you can't describe it, the prompt isn't specific enough.
