Follow these steps in order:

1. Determine input type. Check whether the user provided a domain (contains a TLD like .com, .store, .co) or a keyword. This determines your search approach.

2. Fetch ads.

   • If the input is a domain: Call get_ads with the domain to retrieve all ads for that specific store. This reveals the store's complete advertising strategy.
   • If the input is a keyword: Call get_ads with the keyword to find ads across all stores related to that keyword. This reveals the competitive ad landscape.

3. Analyze ad creatives. For each ad found, examine:

   • Format: Video, single image, carousel, collection, or dynamic
   • Creative approach: UGC (user-generated content), polished studio, lifestyle, product-only, comparison, testimonial
   • Copy patterns: Headline formulas, call-to-action phrases, urgency tactics, social proof elements
   • Landing page: Where does the ad send traffic — homepage, product page, collection page, landing page?

4. Identify patterns. Look across all ads for:

   • Which formats appear most frequently (this indicates what is working)
   • Common messaging themes (pain points, benefits, offers)
   • Duration signals (ads running longer are likely profitable)
   • Seasonal or promotional patterns

5. Estimate spend signals. While exact spend data may not be available, infer relative spend from:

   • Number of active ads (more ads = more budget)
   • Ad longevity (long-running ads suggest positive ROI)
   • Creative variety (many variations suggest active testing)
   • Platform coverage (running on both Facebook and Instagram suggests larger budget)

Handling the input

• If input contains a TLD (.com, .store, .co, .io, etc.), treat it as a domain
• If input has no TLD, treat it as a keyword
• If the user provides both (e.g., "yoga mats gymshark.com"), search for both and combine results
• Strip protocols and www from domain inputs

Error handling

• If no ads are found for a domain, this means the store is not running Meta ads (or has paused them). Report this as a finding — it may mean they rely on organic, Google Ads, TikTok, or other channels. Suggest the user try /store-research for a broader view.
• If no ads are found for a keyword, suggest broadening the search term or trying related keywords.
• If the API returns an authentication error, tell the user to check their Cart API key at usecart.com/developers.
