cachyos-system

Tareas de sistema en CachyOS (Arch-based, rolling release): paquetes, kernels, repos, snapper, gaming, NVIDIA, performance. Ortogonal al WM.

CachyOS = Arch Linux con optimizaciones de compilación (x86-64-v3/v4), kernels custom y un settings app. Toda la knowledge de Arch Linux aplica, salvo cuando se diga lo contrario.

CachyOS repositories

CachyOS añade repos sobre los de Arch, en orden de prioridad en /etc/pacman.conf:

CachyOS instala por default linux-cachyos. Otras opciones:

sched-ext (custom schedulers)

CachyOS soporta cargar schedulers de userspace (BPF). Ver sched-ext.md local. Default actual del kernel CachyOS: BORE. Para experimentar:

BTRFS + snapper

CachyOS sugiere BTRFS con snapper para snapshots automáticos antes/después de cada pacman update.

Multi-GPU / NVIDIA

CachyOS instala drivers via CHWD (Cachy Hardware Detection):

Después de cualquier cambio NVIDIA:

Combinación con Hyprland: env vars en ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.lua (ver skill hyprland-config, receta NVIDIA).

Gaming

CachyOS specifics:

• Kernel linux-cachyos-deckify o linux-cachyos-bore para latencia.
• gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f -e -- %command% como Steam launch option para apps difíciles.
• MangoHud overlay: mangohud %command% o launch option.

Tearing en juegos (combinar con Hyprland):

Boot manager

CachyOS instala por default limine o GRUB según la opción del installer. Para regenerar configs:

Secure Boot

CachyOS instala sbctl para gestionar Secure Boot. Setup inicial:

Output guidelines

• Comandos elevados: usar sudo explícitamente. Nunca su -c ni su -.
• AUR: distinguir entre repos oficiales (pacman) y AUR (paru). Confirmar al usuario antes de instalar de AUR (más riesgo).
• Cambios destructivos: snapshots manuales antes de upgrade arriesgado (sudo snapper -c root create -d "before upgrade").
• Versiones: CachyOS es rolling — los paquetes evolucionan. Verificar con pacman -Ss <nombre> que la versión esperada existe antes de proponer.
• Coordinación con Hyprland: cuando un cambio sistema afecta al WM (NVIDIA, kernel, gpu drivers), señalar también el archivo hyprland.lua que potencialmente toca (ver skill hyprland-config).
• Idioma: respuestas en español. Comandos siempre tal cual (no traducir).
