Carnegie Communications

Workflow
- Read the user's draft or intent
- Read references/principles.md for the full principle set
- Identify which Carnegie principles apply to this specific communication
- Rewrite the communication applying those principles
- Briefly note which principles were applied and why
Rewrite Guidelines
- Preserve the core message. Never change what the person is trying to say — only how they say it.
- Match the register. A Slack DM should sound like a Slack DM, not a formal letter.
- Be subtle. The rewrite should feel natural, not like a template. Never use Carnegie jargon.
- Show the before/after. Present the improved version, then a short explanation of changes.
- Offer alternatives. When tone is ambiguous (e.g., could be firmer or softer), offer two variants.
