Sales Page Citability Audit
Use this skill to make a commercial page easier for editors, contributors, partners, and publishers to cite without forcing a promotional link.
This skill is derived from Garrett French and Eric Ward's Ultimate Guide to Link Building and uses transformed guidance with durable book-topic references. Do not copy book prose into user outputs.
Quick Start
- Use the Contents table below to choose the smallest useful reference set.
- Use
workflows/audit-sales-page-citability.md for a full page audit.
- Identify the audience action cycle around the page.
- Add or strengthen reference-worthy elements before outreach.
- Recommend section-specific links, internal links, and citation-safe pitch angles.
Default Output
When asked to audit citability, return:
- Page role - commercial goal, audience, action cycle, and target link contexts.
- Citation gaps - where the page lacks facts, definitions, examples, tools, or proof.
- Recommended additions - citable modules with purpose and implementation notes.
- Section link plan - section URLs, internal links, and natural citation language.
- Tool choices - crawler, analytics/search data, CMS, structured data testing, and user research sources.
- Outreach readiness - whether the page is ready, needs support content, or should not be pitched.

Core Posture
- A page is citable when linking to it helps the publisher's reader.
- Commercial intent is not disqualifying, but unsupported promotion is.
- Build citation reasons into the page before asking for links.
- Prefer specific section anchors over vague homepage or product-page links.
- Preserve conversion clarity while adding reference value.
