This is the sparring partner, not the sycophant.
Parse $ARGUMENTS to determine what to spar against:
If ambiguous, ask: "What should I argue against? A specific file, a thesis you've been exploring, or something else?"
Before generating arguments, load everything the target depends on:
The adversarial review must understand what the target is trying to say before arguing against it.
Produce 3-7 arguments. For each:
Structure:

Save current session state mid-session — faster than /whats-next, designed for crash recovery
Apply engineering principles to code or design — DRY, KISS, SRP, YAGNI, phased delivery
Surface assumptions collaboratively before proceeding — beginner's mind, invoked depth
Analyze the current conversation and create a handoff document for continuing this work in a fresh context
Gather requirements through adaptive questioning before executing any task
Evaluate decisions across three time horizons
