| name | para-index |
| description | Use when filing notes to Obsidian vault (~/ws/notes/), organizing tasks across systems, processing inbox items, or deciding where content belongs in the PARA structure (Todoist, Notion, Obsidian). Covers vault area conventions, document maturity (idea → concept → PRD), and system ID mappings. |
Universal PARA Index
This skill provides the mapping between PARA categories across Todoist, Notion, and Obsidian.
PARA Overview
- Projects: Tasks with a deadline and defined outcome
- Areas: Ongoing responsibilities with standards to maintain
- Resources: Reference material and information
- Archive: Completed/inactive items

Obsidian Filing Convention (~/ws/notes/)
Before Filing
Scan existing structure first: ls 2-Areas/, 3-Resources/, 1-Projects/. Present existing matches + "create new" option — don't assume existing = correct home. Always add cross-links ([[Related Note]]) to related areas.
Document Maturity Ladder
| Stage | Location | Signal |
|---|
| Raw capture / voice note / brainstorm | 2-Areas/Ideas/ | Unstructured, single thought |
| Developed concept with design decisions | 2-Areas/Future of UX and Agent Ideas/ | Has architecture, tradeoffs, open questions |
| Formal product requirement | 2-Areas/PRDs/ | Ready to implement |
Key Area Conventions
| Area | What Goes Here |
|---|
Ideas/ | Raw captures, brainstorming. Ideas MOC.md is the entrypoint — all idea notes must be linked from it. |
Future of UX and Agent Ideas/ | Developed concepts: outliner UX, agent architecture, buffer models, interaction patterns. More than an idea, less than a PRD. |
PRDs/ | Formal product requirement docs ready for implementation. |
Orchestration/ | Orchestration tools, frameworks, and evaluations. |
Everything AI Strategy/ | EAI product direction, principles, feature ideas. |
Everything Backlog/ | Actionable EAI items not yet scheduled. |
Agents/ | Agent development, capability ideas, agent productivity tools. |
People/ | Contact notes. Link from other notes that mention the person. |
Wellness/ | Health, supplements, protocols. |
Networking/ | Community, events, networking strategy. |
Hackathon/ | Hackathon projects and event notes. |
Note Conventions
- Preserve ALL raw content (title + description + comments) verbatim in quotes
- Use
source: todoist-inbox-triage in frontmatter for triaged items
- Add
## Connections section with wiki-links to related notes
- When creating a note in an area with an MOC, add the new note to the MOC
Task Processing Workflow
When processing a task from Todoist triage:
1. Determine PARA Category
Ask: "Does this have a deadline and clear end state?"
- Yes -> Project
- No -> Area or Resource
2. Map to Existing Container
If it's a Project task:
- Check if project exists in Notion Projects database
- If yes, create Action Item linked to that project
- If no, create new project first, then action item
If it's an Area task:
- Identify the Area it belongs to
- Create Action Item in Notion with appropriate tags
- Consider: Should this become a project?
If it's unclear:
- Keep in Review/Clarifications for next triage
- Or create as standalone Action Item
3. Create in Notion
Use mcp__notion__notion-create-pages with parent data_source_id: 17e577f8-2e28-81cf-9d6b-000bc2cf0d50
Required fields:
Action Item: Task title
Status: Active (default)
Priority: Based on urgency
Optional fields:
Do Date: If task has due date
Projects (DB): Link to project if applicable
Short Note: Description from Todoist
4. Complete in Todoist
After creating in Notion, mark task as complete in Todoist or delete if duplicate.
