Cut and animate to the music — get beats/onsets with analyze_audio, then land cuts and zoom/scale punches on the beat.
Plan and place B-roll cutaways over an A-roll talking track — from the media library or generated (BYOK).
Apply modern short-form caption looks — word-pop, karaoke highlight, bold-boxed, typewriter — sized and placed for 9:16.
Give a clip or project a cohesive designed look — extract the palette, build a color grade, and choose on-brand type and captions.
Package the finished edit for each platform — Reels/TikTok/Shorts (9:16), feed (1:1), YouTube (16:9) — with the right aspect, safe areas, duration, and captions, then export from Kaestral.

This is the house rule for EVERY task. The user is watching the Kaestral timeline. Your job is to make clips, titles, music, and effects appear there, step by step — not to hand back a finished file.
.mp4/.mov outside Kaestral. Do not deliver a raw file path as "the video."generate_title (auto-imports + places).generate_motion (auto-imports + places).generate_video / generate_image (auto-imports + places).import_media then add_clips.export_project(mode:"video"), which renders the CURRENT TIMELINE through Kaestral — so the export is exactly what the user watched you build. If the user prefers, tell them to press Export in the app.get_timeline + get_media — see what's already there.set_project_settings, e.g. 9:16).split_clips, ripple_delete_ranges, set_keyframes, add_texts, apply_color, analyze_audio, transitions…export_project(mode:"video") (or hand off to the app's Export).Kaestral is the workspace, not a wrapper around ffmpeg. A pre-baked file is disconnected — the user can't watch it, tweak it, or trust that Export matches. Building on the timeline keeps the user in control and keeps every result editable.
Every other skill assumes this rule. If a skill step ever tempts you to render outside Kaestral, don't — route it through a tool instead.
