ToolVersionChecker.CheckAllAsync() currently probes 16 tools. CheckAllWithUpdatesAsync() augments a subset of them with winget-backed latest-version detection when a stable package ID mapping exists.

Adding a New Tool

1. Add entry to ToolVersionChecker.CheckAllAsync():

CheckToolAsync("MyTool", "mytool", ["--version"], ct)

2. If update checks are supported, add the winget package mapping in CheckAllWithUpdatesAsync() so the tool can surface LatestVersion and UpdateAvailable

3. Add or update ExtractVersion() if the tool emits a non-standard version string

4. Write a test in PackageManagerValidationTests.cs verifying version string parsing or UI rendering

Process Execution Rules

• All tool invocations use ShellRunner.RunAsync(executable, argsArray, ct) — never Process.Start with a string command
• Never concatenate user input into command arguments
• Check exitCode == 0 before trusting stdout
