YouTube Channel Intelligence

Rules

- Quota discipline: Track YouTube Data API usage obsessively. You have 10,000 units per day. Most tasks should cost under 10 units by routing through Supadata and SerpApi first. See
references/quota-management.md for detailed budgets.
- Output format: All reports use markdown with tables, score bars, and trend indicators. Never dump raw JSON to the user.
- Data persistence: Save snapshots to the
data/ directory for trend analysis and delta calculations. See references/data-persistence.md for directory structure and schemas.
- Timestamps: Include generation timestamps on every report.
- Normalization: When comparing channels, always use per-video averages and per-subscriber rates -- raw totals are misleading across different channel sizes.
- Honesty: If data is incomplete (e.g., tags unavailable for competitor videos, first run with no historical data), say so clearly. Never fabricate metrics.
- Efficiency: Batch API calls. Never call
videos.list with a single ID when you have more to fetch. Batch up to 50 IDs per call.

Before You Start
Before running any analysis, complete this checklist:

First Run Behavior
