Client Status Report Skill

When to activate

• You owe a client a weekly or bi-weekly status update and want to make it professional and consistent
• A project is complex and you want a paper trail of what was delivered each week
• A client is going quiet and you want to re-engage with substance, not a follow-up ping
• You want to proactively surface blockers before they become complaints
• End of a billing period — what did they get for their money?

When NOT to use

• Simple one-off projects with a single delivery — use the invoice notes instead
• Real-time project management updates (use Asana, Linear, or Notion for that)
• Client-facing project management where they need live access to task status — use a shared project board

Escalation report (Yellow or Red status)

When something has gone wrong or is at risk:

Write a client status report for a project that is at risk (Yellow / Red status).
