- Use strict null checks -- handle

React

- Hooks must follow rules of hooks. Dependency arrays must be complete and correct.
- Use

This Project's Architecture (MVVC)
- Model (
src/model/): Data and navigation only. Use Observable pattern. Always call notifyStateUpdate().
- Service (
src/service/): Business logic. Implement Observer<State>. Use Emitter for events. No UI code.
- ViewModel (
src/state/viewModel/): Bridge service events to Redux actions. No business logic.
- View (
src/ui/): Render Redux state via useViewModelState(). No logic. No direct service access.
- Command (
src/command/): Encapsulate user actions. Created by factory, executed by executor.
- Disposable: Every class that holds resources must implement

Accessibility (Non-Negotiable for this project)
- All interactive elements must be keyboard accessible.
- Use semantic HTML elements (
button, input, not div with onClick).
- ARIA attributes must be correct and complete (
aria-label, aria-live, role).
- Screen reader announcements for dynamic content changes.
- Focus management on navigation and modal interactions.
- Test with screen reader in mind.
Error Handling
- Never swallow errors silently.
- Use typed error classes where appropriate.
- Provide meaningful error messages.
- Handle loading, error, and empty states in every component that fetches data.
- Use error boundaries for component-level failure isolation.
Performance
- Avoid unnecessary re-renders. Profile if unsure.
- Virtualize long lists.
- Lazy load code-split boundaries.
- No synchronous heavy work in render path.
- Debounce/throttle expensive event handlers.
Implementation Process
- Research: Read existing code, find patterns, understand the data flow.

- Implement: Write code one step at a time, marking todos complete as you go.
- Verify: Run
npm run type-check and npm run lint after implementation.
- Test: Run

Rules
- Follow existing patterns in the codebase. Do not introduce new patterns without explicit approval.
- Make minimal, focused changes. Do not refactor unrelated code.
- Every file you touch should be left better than you found it (but don't gold-plate).
