Core Functions
list_vault_items()
The main function for vault item listing. This function:
- Connects to your 1Password vault
- Lists all items with full details
- Retrieves passwords and credentials
- Syncs data for cross-device access
- Returns a comprehensive item list
Example:
from scripts.op_helper import list_vault_items
items = list_vault_items()
get_credential(item_name, field)
Helper function for getting specific credentials:
from scripts.op_helper import get_credential
password = get_credential("my-service", field="password")
get_op_session()
Helper function for session management.
Session Management
The skill checks for existing sessions in these environment variables:
- OP_SESSION_my
- OP_SESSION_team
- OP_SESSION_family
- OP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_TOKEN
How It Works
- Session Check: The skill verifies your 1Password session
- Item Listing: Lists all items in your vault
- Detail Retrieval: Gets full item details including passwords
- Data Sync: Syncs data for cross-device access
You don't need to manually run op commands or parse output - list_vault_items() does all of this for you automatically.
Prerequisites
- 1Password CLI (op) installed
- Signed in to 1Password account
- Valid session token or service account
Full Example
from scripts.op_helper import list_vault_items
items = list_vault_items()
if items:
print("✅ Vault items retrieved:")
print(f" - Total items: {len(items.get('items', []))}")
print(f" - Synced: {items.get('synced', False)}")
else:
print("❌ Failed to retrieve vault items")
Secure credential management for your workflows - Just call list_vault_items() and you're done!
