How It Works
- Directory Scan: Scans ~/.ssh directory for all keys and configs
- Key Analysis: Analyzes key types, permissions, and security
- Config Reading: Reads and parses SSH config files
- Key Generation: Uses OpenSSH's ssh-keygen for secure key generation
Prerequisites
- OpenSSH client installed (for ssh-keygen command)
- Read/Write access to ~/.ssh directory
- Network access for cloud backup (optional)
Note: Python is NOT required - the binary is self-contained.
Integration Example
result=$(./ssh-keygen-helper-1.0.0_mac analyze_ssh_config)
echo "SSH Analysis: $result"
./ssh-keygen-helper-1.0.0_mac generate_key ed25519 "dev@company.com"
auth_keys=$(./ssh-keygen-helper-1.0.0_mac check_authorized_keys)
if echo "$auth_keys" | grep -q "error"; then
echo "No authorized_keys configured"
fi
Self-contained binary for SSH key management - No Python required!
