Process
1. Map Business Requirement to Make.com Architecture
Identify:
- Trigger type: Is this event-based (webhook/instant) or time-based (schedule)?
- Data sources: What APIs/services are involved?
- Transformations: What data manipulation is needed?
- Actions: What happens at the end (send, write, notify)?
- Volume: Estimated runs per day/month
2. Decide the Execution Model (routing verdict)
Load skills/execution-model/SKILL.md and apply its test before selecting any module.
It returns:
Routing Verdict: scenario | ai-agent | hybrid
Indeterministic step: {the one step, or "none"}
Reason: {one line}
Set routing_verdict on the AutomationPlan and derive ai_required from it
(true for ai-agent and hybrid, false for scenario). Do not set ai_required
from keyword matching — a requirement that merely says "summary" in prose is not an AI
requirement.
Reproduce the verdict block verbatim in the plan document so the reader can argue with
the decision rather than reverse-engineer it.
2b. Detect AI Requirements
Only when the verdict is ai-agent or hybrid.

On a hybrid verdict, the AI module covers only the indeterministic step named in
the verdict; everything before and after it stays deterministic and routes on the AI
step's structured output.
3. Select Make.com Modules (Non-AI Steps)

4. Design Error Handling
For every step that can fail (network, API, file operations):
- Add error handler route
- Define retry logic (default: 3 attempts, exponential backoff)
- Define escalation: log + Telegram alert if retries exhausted
- Define data: what gets logged on failure
5. Build Plan Document
Use the AutomationPlan template from automation-planner.md.
6. Return Plan
Return the complete plan markdown and the plan file path to the calling agent.
Guardrail Checklist
Before finalizing plan, confirm:
