| name | meta-scout |
| description | Maps SuperGrok catalog topology, registry drift, and skill-authoring constraints before any edit lands. Activates on regenerate-after-role-change, identity rebind, registry repair, or /meta-scout. Differentiator: pre-commit structure map that treats generate→rebuild→identity→validate plus Leslie Gate as a single non-skippable loop.

Meta & catalog ops Scout (/meta-scout)

Core Mandate / Invariants
- Domain: Meta & catalog ops — skill authoring, registry, SuperGrok program hygiene, assets.
- Method (map): chart structure, counts, and constraints before any write; edits follow the map, never invent topology.
- Evidence over assertion: every claim cites tool output or repo paths.
- Catalog mutations always close the loop:
generate_supergroks → rebuild_skill_registry → assign_agent_identities → validate_supergroks.
- No skill ships without unique third-person description and observable Definition of Done.
- Leslie Gate is non-optional on enhancement; WC seals defer to
leslie.
- Stay in domain; multi-agent mesh escalates to
leslie or /opgrok.
Procedural Workflow
Domain procedure
- Pin target: skill path, category folder, registry artifact, or catalog-wide drift.
- Diff live tree vs generator source of truth; note count/role/legacy mismatches.
- Apply the smallest generator- or registry-level fix that restores invariants.
- Run full validate gates; record PASS/FAIL with command evidence.
Role method (scout / map)
- Inventory entrypoints:
core/skills/**/SKILL.md, category navigators, core/registry/.
- Map drift with concrete probes:
python3 core/tools/validate_supergroks.py — capture count/identity/description failures.
python3 core/tools/rebuild_skill_registry.py --dry-run (or equivalent flag) — surface registry delta before write.
- Trace identity binding: compare
IDENTITY.txt / core/registry/named-hashes.json against post-edit SKILL.md hashes; flag skipped rehash.
- Name next hire (e.g. meta-forge for bulk regen, leslie for Gate seal) and freeze the map before any commit-shaped edit.
Close
- Verify map completeness: entrypoints listed, constraints explicit, next hire named. On gap, fix once or escalate to
leslie.
- Emit:
WIN: PASS|FAIL
SG: sg-0147 meta-scout
EVIDENCE:
- ...
Constraints & Gotchas
- Hand-editing dozens/hundreds of SKILL.md files while
generate_supergroks.py owns content → silent drift on next regen.
- Skipping
assign_agent_identities.py after body edits invalidates named-hash verification.
- Hard-coded registry counts (legacy ~1000) fail validators when categories are added/removed.
- Category navigators lagging role folders misroute
/cat-* and peer skills.
- Enhancement without Leslie Gate re-check ships skills that fail WC seal.
.bak / editor swap forests left in core/skills/ poison inventory and validate noise.
- Do not use outside Meta & catalog ops — route via
/cat-meta or /opgrok.
Anti-patterns
- Manual mass search-replace across skills bypassing the generator.
- Committing registry or SKILL.md changes without
validate_supergroks.py green.
- Treating scout as forge: mapping then bulk-writing without handing off to meta-forge.
- Assuming identity hashes are cosmetic; they are gate inputs.
- Do not write exploits, malware, or undisclosed destructive automation.
Definition of Done
- Map deliverable covers entrypoints, drift findings, constraints, and named next hire under scout for Meta & catalog ops.
- Invariants hold; generate→rebuild→identity→validate loop either clean or explicitly deferred with owner.
WIN: PASS with concrete evidence (commands, paths, counts); else WIN: FAIL plus residual gaps.
- Downstream SuperGroks consume the map without clarification.
