Portfolio Review
The firm's standing cadence for keeping invested companies tracked and supported. It rates direction and concentrates attention — it is operations and analysis, never advice to buy, sell, or move money.
Steps
- Set the cadence and scope. Confirm which companies are in this review and the period it covers. Every company gets touched on schedule; none is skipped because it is quiet.
- Pull the numbers. For each company, gather the current KPIs and the latest check-in notes. Where a number is missing or stale, mark it missing — do not carry the last known figure forward as if it were current.
- Compare to last review. Rate each KPI's movement against the prior cycle: improving, flat, or deteriorating. Health is the trend, not the snapshot.
- Rate health with a reason. Give each company a status (healthy / watch / at-risk) and one sentence of why, tied to the movement — not just a color.
- Rank attention. Order the portfolio by where the firm's time changes an outcome. Name plainly which companies are coasting, which need a touch, and which are at risk.
- Turn needs into tracked work. Every support commitment — a hire, an intro, a strategic question — becomes a scoped internal Task with an owner and a due date, tracked to a result, not a promise.
- Escalate early. Any company trending toward trouble goes up with its trend and the options, before it becomes a surprise.

- Missing or stale data is flagged as such, never silently forward-filled.
- The attention ranking reflects impact, not company size or loudness.
- Every support commitment maps to a tracked Task with an owner and a date.

Output format
A portfolio health review: per-company status with KPI movement and a one-line reason, a ranked attention list, a support-action table (Task, owner, due, state), and an escalation section for at-risk companies.
