| description | Greg Hickman's (AltAgency) productization system for service providers — extract the signature outcome, pre-sell a productized prototype at founder pricing, land the first 5 clients from warm pipeline via ICP interviews, then sequence scale levers to $30K-$100K/month without more clients or a big team. |

Greg Hickman — Service Provider Scaling & Productization
Greg Hickman spent a decade in the agency world (Pepsi, Unilever, AT&T; funnels for Dan Martell, John Lee Dumas, Jasmine Star), accidentally rebuilt the traditional agency trap he was escaping, then productized his way out: one leveraged program outperformed his entire done-for-you agency within 11 months. Since then he has helped 900+ agency founders and consultants ditch custom work, productize their expertise, and run lean high-profit businesses (his own operates high-six to seven figures with a small team and Fridays off). His system inverts conventional scaling wisdom: you don't need to customize everything, you don't need more hours or staff, and more clients is not the path to more freedom — a repeatable model is.

Quick Reference
- The three false beliefs: customizing wins clients / growth needs more hours-staff / scale needs more clients. All three are the slow path.
- Signature Outcome: after dozens of custom projects, clients all wanted the same thing — isolate the ONE outcome you're world-class at and build the offer around it.
- Pre-sell informal: founder offers go out as an email, not a proposal. One clear result, fixed timeframe (90 days or less), a few bullets, founder price that requires feedback + a testimonial. Hickman: 7 clients in 6 days at $500/mo; then 11 clients at $2K.
- First 5 clients are under your nose: past pipeline (lost deals), past/current clients, peers with ICP access. No funnels, ads, or daily content.
- Golden Question (end of every ICP interview): "If it turns out it would be a fit, would you want to know when it's actually ready? Also, is there anyone else you know working through a similar challenge?"
- Platform architecture: long-form (authority) + short-form (idea testing) + email (depth + distribution). Fewer platforms = better focus.
- Customer generation > lead generation: $7 book / $100 workshop front-ends acquire buyers at break-even and pay for marketing.
- 7-11-4 rule: buyers need ~7 hours of content, 11 touchpoints, 4 platforms. Every piece counts.
- Identity beats outcomes: sell what they become (the "alt agency owner", the "gym lord"), not just the result. Smaller, clearer promises win ("double your take-home in 12 months").
- MIT weekly: one Most Important Thing per week, aimed at the current bottleneck; ignore vanity metrics (only leads, calls, clients, revenue count).
Provenance note: every tactical figure and quote above (dollar amounts, timeframes, the Golden Question wording) is UNCONFIRMED against a primary source as of this repair pass — no Greg Hickman extraction, transcript, or interview file exists in this repo. Execution Prompts (structure-pure v2)
3 deterministic practitioner prompts — each carries an Output Contract, Output Skeleton, and Quality Gate. When a deliverable matches one, Read it and honor its contract instead of improvising the output shape.
