| name | Oren — Identity Brand OS |
| description | Identity-first brand marketing from zero to cult following to 1,000 true fans to scale, for any creator or founder. Excavate a public identity before any archetype decision, diagnose which of the Five Identity Drivers a brand activates per segment, engineer true-fan density (tribe, chapters, homie lookbooks, third-space hosting), audit visual signature, split-test aspiration avatars, and gate every play through the mirror-test ethics check. |

Oren — Identity Brand OS
The identity-first layer that answers "who am I as a public identity, and why would a stranger bond their self-concept to this brand?" before any archetype, content, or platform decision. It treats a product as a recognition token between lonely strangers first and a utility second, then builds that attachment on purpose: excavate the zero-point identity, diagnose the Five Identity Drivers, engineer true-fan density toward 1,000 true fans, and scale any creator or founder toward their mission. Everything already owned by the Oren arsenal (archetype selection, repositioning, team scaling, luxury positioning, taste QC) routes out. This OS is thin orchestration plus the net-new zero-point, cult-following, and generalized-intake gaps.
Front door: /identity-brand-os runs founder intake, stage diagnosis (zero / launching / scaling), and a routed mission plan.
Load genius.md before any workflow. It carries the 13 patterns, the exemplars, the rubric, and the mirror-test ethics gate.
Disambiguation (binding)
The Five Identity Drivers in this OS (Belonging, Better-than-the-others, Rebel, Standout, Subculture-pride) are consumer-side motives for self-association. They are never called "archetypes." The word "archetypes" belongs to oren-brand-archetypes, whose five creator archetypes (Oracle, Performer, World Builder, Catalyst, Helper) answer a different question: what functional content role a brand plays as a creator. The two frameworks are complementary and disjoint. A brand can be a Rebel (Identity Driver) executed through the Performer archetype (content role). Never merge the two five-part lists.
Available Workflows
Tier 1: Foundation (from-zero lane)
| # | Workflow | Produces | Use When |
|---|
/identity-brand-os | Founder intake diagnostic | Stage + driver diagnosis, routed mission plan | Front door; first engagement with any creator or founder |
/identity-zero-point | Public-identity excavation | Identity seed from origin, place, obsessions, weak points | Before any archetype or content decision; no customer data yet |
/identity-driver-diagnostic | Five Identity Drivers diagnosis | Primary plus secondary driver per segment, with receipts | Diagnosing why anyone self-associates with the brand |
/true-fan-density-engine | 1,000-true-fans protocol | Tribe design, chapter model, homie-lookbook proof loop, third-space plan, depth-over-reach cadence | Building cult-following density instead of reach |
Tier 2: Practitioner
| # | Workflow | Produces | Use When |
|---|
/signature-design-audit | Visual-signature menu | Colorway / form / pattern / tag / iconography choice, color ownership, logo-vs-subtlety axis | Building glance-recognizable signature in a crowded category |
/persona-reality-audit | Actual-vs-imagined buyer gap | Real-list audit, wrong-person diagnosis, aspiration-gap map | Before any persona or targeting decision |
/third-space-replacement | Congregation host plan | The lost third space located, the replacement you host (events, run-club logic, pop-ups) | The brand needs a real-world density loop |
/identity-weak-point-map | Internal weak-point resolution | Private identity beyond affiliation, the feeling your product restores | The product repairs or restores a self-concept |
/aspiration-gap-split-test | See-myself vs see-aspiration test | Three-tier avatar test plan, split-audience routing | Ad-creative testing on any aspirational product |
/two-demographic-split | Gender-performative creative split | Separate creative strategy per demo | Planning creative for a gender-wide base |
/homie-lookbook-brief | Peer-proximity content brief | Friends-not-models casting, story-underneath filter, shot logic | Casting any brand content or campaign |
Tier 3: Integration & Gates
| # | Workflow | Produces | Use When |
|---|
/identity-injection-pass | Identity into the hook/offer/copy triad | Identity-loaded rewrite of any existing asset | Pouring identity into an existing creative or funnel |
/identity-control-strategy | Top-down vs bottom-up fork | Control-vs-seed decision plus mirror-test ethics gate | Deciding whether to engineer or seed-and-release the tribe |
/identity-scale-router | Thresholds plus handoff map | Routing plan into the existing arsenal at each scale threshold | Scaling past foundation into team, positioning, or BOS work |
Cross-Expert Stacking
This OS composes freely; the handoffs below are options, not a forced pipeline.
avatar-machine (Luke Iha) feeds /persona-reality-audit with grounded ICP research before the real-list audit.
meg-sub-identity-map (Meg Heckman) sharpens the Subculture-pride driver by finding the ignored sub-identity inside a saturated niche.
lynch-identity-campaign gives the chosen driver a campaign-level expression (name the identity in one word), validated against consumer-posture psychology.
voice-os (BLEND default) layers over every Farrice-voiced output before the content workflow runs.
build-bos produces the 6-layer Brand Operating System deliverable once the identity is set; it is the productizable client back end.
dara-* and copy-engine take the aspiration-gap split and two-demographic split into ad-testing and cold-start converting copy.
- The seven
oren-* skills route out (do not re-teach them): oren-brand-archetypes (creator archetype selection, the front door to content role), oren-content-team-architecture (team and pod scaling once traction exists), oren-luxury-psychology (premium positioning once identity has value), oren-repositioning (generic-to-differentiated repositioning), oren-taste-development (judgment and quality control), oren-operational-systems (ops infrastructure), and oren-one-person-ai-marketer (solo execution engine, and the home of AI-clone / brand-voice-machine work, which is out of scope here).
Kevin Kelly's 1,000 True Fans (published March 2008) grounds /true-fan-density-engine: identity mechanics manufacture true fans; the essay prices them (a true fan buys anything you produce; bind the mechanics to the depth-over-reach principle, treat the $100-per-fan unit as illustrative, not a guarantee).
Quick Reference
The Five Identity Drivers (why a consumer bonds self to brand; pick a primary plus secondary per segment, never a pile):
- Belonging: I want to fit in with people like me (sneakers).
- Better-than-the-others: subtle superiority, more tasteful than my friend group (The Row).
- Rebel: I don't play by your rules (Liquid Death).
- Standout / flare: the I'm-special call, it stands out on a feed.
- Subculture-pride: if you know, you know (geography, race, hobbies, gender).
The four testing questions (the demo ladder): who is the actual demo, then who does that demo think they are, then who do they want to be, then who do they want to hear from. The fourth breaks the mirror assumption: the messenger they want is often not their own demographic.
The mirror test (ship gate): a play that shows the buyer a mirror of something that resolves a real weak point ships; a play that feels dirty, or manufactures a weak point it then sells against, is rejected outright.

Execution Prompts (structure-pure v2)
14 deterministic practitioner prompts — each carries an Output Contract, Output Skeleton, and Quality Gate. When a deliverable matches one, Read it and honor its contract instead of improvising the output shape.
