Workflow

Follow these steps in order:

Step 2: Understand Requirements

Answer these questions for the task at hand:

• What exactly is being built, fixed, or modified? (name the block/component/behavior)
• Why is this change needed? (user need, bug, design update)
• What is the surrounding context? (page type, adjacent blocks, content dependencies)
• Which viewports are affected and how do they differ? (mobile, tablet, desktop)
• How does this impact the author experience in the document editor?

Ask the user questions if needed to clarify unclear requirements, confirm assumptions, or fill in missing information before proceeding.

Use task-specific guidance from references/task-types.md to apply the correct analysis approach for new blocks, variants, CSS-only changes, behavior modifications, or bug fixes.

Step 3: Generate Acceptance Criteria

Produce structured acceptance criteria in the following format for each requirement identified:

Step 4: Validation Checkpoint

Before proceeding to implementation, verify the acceptance criteria cover all of the following. If any are missing, go back and complete them.

• Functional requirements — every expected behavior is explicitly stated
• Edge cases — empty fields, missing optional content, and boundary values addressed
• Responsive behavior — mobile, tablet, and desktop outcomes defined
• Author experience — document structure and required/optional fields documented
• Definition of done — clear, testable completion conditions stated
• Ambiguities resolved — any open questions answered or flagged for follow-up

Once all boxes can be checked, analysis is complete and implementation may begin.

Output

Document the analysis and acceptance criteria in your response. This becomes the reference artifact for subsequent development steps (block building, testing, code review).
