Seed Hard Sci-Fi
Extrapolate one real mechanism into a compact premise whose human consequences feel stranger than its technology.
Workflow
- Extract the most generative mechanism from the source topic. Prefer a constraint, failure mode, tradeoff, or second-order effect over a product name.
- Preserve a firm anchor in current science or engineering. If a factual claim matters and may be unstable or uncertain, verify it before building on it.
- Make one primary speculative leap. State it clearly instead of hiding several miracles inside jargon.
- Follow the consequences through three layers:
- how the mechanism works;
- how people experience it from the inside;
- what social norm, institution, conflict, or failure mode emerges.
- Choose a viewpoint character and a moment when the system behaves unexpectedly. A premise becomes a story when it creates a costly decision.
- Give the concept a restrained, plausible name only if naming improves recall.
Constraints
- Keep the science causal and internally consistent.
- Distinguish established fact, plausible extrapolation, and deliberate invention.
- Avoid generic dystopia, omnipotent AI, unexplained quantum effects, and cosmetic space settings.
- Explore implications before adding more technology.
- Do not automatically append a sci-fi seed to unrelated answers; run this skill only when invoked or clearly requested.
Output
Write in the user's language. Default to 3–6 paragraphs, followed by three compact lines:
- Anchor: the real mechanism.
- Leap: the single speculative assumption.
- Story pressure: the decision or conflict that makes the premise narratively alive.
