# filesystem
Local filesystem read/write operations; create, read, update, and delete files
## When to Activate
- Use **filesystem** from an MCP-aware client
- Official Core tasks that filesystem supports
- Register filesystem via `claude mcp add` or `.mcp.json`
## Installation
filesystem is an MCP server (stdio transport). Register it with Claude Code:
