SkyyRose Social — Platform Community Guidelines
When to Use This Skill
- Writing or revising the public-facing community guidelines for skyyrose.co or The Concrete Garden
- Establishing acceptable use policies for any public SkyyRose digital space (comment sections, product reviews, community forums)
- Creating a transparent enforcement and appeals framework that community members can reference
- Updating guidelines after a moderation incident or community growth milestone
- Drafting the guidelines section of a platform launch brief
DO NOT use this for internal moderator training (use skyyrose-social-community-moderation), for the brand's social media governance policy (use skyyrose-social-social-media-policy), or for planning a community launch (use skyyrose-social-community-launch). This skill produces a public document, not an internal playbook.
Brand Canon (non-negotiable)
- Tagline (exact):
Luxury Grows from Concrete. — use in the guidelines introduction to anchor the document in brand identity.
- Voice: Direct, plain, Oakland-honest. Not corporate legalese. Not a startup manifesto. If you'd need a lawyer to read it aloud, rewrite it.
- Cultural specificity: This is a Black-owned Oakland brand. The guidelines must protect the culture explicitly — not vaguely ("be respectful"), but specifically (e.g., no appropriation, no disrespect toward Black culture or The Town).
- No hype-merchant framing. The guidelines introduction does not sell membership. It states purpose and expectation. Corey's register: earned, specific, unhurried.
- The Five visual references apply only if this document includes visual standards (e.g., for a UGC program). Pull from Kith/Oaklandish/Culture Kings/Fear of God/Palm Angels — never European luxury-house framing.

Artifact specification
The output of this skill is a complete, publication-ready SkyyRose Community Guidelines document. It must include all of the following sections, in order, at the specified detail level.
Section 1: Introduction
Length: 3-5 short paragraphs.
Content:
- Why these guidelines exist (protect the community that built this brand)
- Who they apply to (every member of every SkyyRose digital space)
- The founding principle: this is The Town's brand; treat it and each other accordingly
- Reference tagline:
Luxury Grows from Concrete.
- Close with a plain commitment: "We enforce these. Consistently."
Voice check: Should sound like Corey posted it, not like a legal team wrote it. "You" and "we" throughout. No passive voice. Under 200 words total.
Section 2: Our Values
Format: 4-5 titled bullets with one-sentence explanations.
Required values (adapt the language, keep the substance):
| Value | Substance |
|---|
| Authenticity | Say what's real. This community was built on honesty, not hype. |
| Respect for the culture | This is a Black-owned Oakland brand. The culture is not a costume. |
| Real feedback, real support | Honest product feedback and genuine customer support are welcome. Marketing disguised as community is not. |
| Oakland first | Local roots, global reach. We center The Town and the people who built it. |
| Protect the drop | Early access is a privilege. Community members who have it protect it. |
Section 3: What We Expect
Format: Bulleted positive standards (what good looks like).
Required items:
- Post with your real identity or a consistent handle
- Share honest product feedback — positive and critical
- Engage with other community members as peers, not an audience
- Credit others when sharing their content within the community
- When you have early access, keep it to yourself until the public launch
Section 4: What We Don't Allow
Format: Categorized prohibited behavior. Each category has a 1-sentence description and 2-3 bullet examples. No legalese.
Required categories:
Disrespect and harassment
Attacking people for who they are, where they're from, or what they believe is not SkyyRose.
- Personal attacks, name-calling, or sustained harassment of any member
- Hate speech targeting race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability
- Doxxing — sharing someone's personal information without their consent
Spam and self-promotion
This community is not a marketplace for your business.
- Unsolicited promotional messages, affiliate links, or business pitches
- Posting duplicate content across multiple channels
- DM campaigns to community members without their invitation
Cultural appropriation and disrespect
SkyyRose is a Black-owned Oakland brand. The culture this brand is built on is not a reference point to appropriate or mock.
- Using the brand's aesthetic or community as a vehicle for content that disrespects Black culture
- Mockery of Oakland, The Town, or the communities this brand represents
- Any content that a reasonable person would recognize as culturally harmful
Misrepresentation
Be who you are. Represent what you actually have.
- Impersonating SkyyRose staff, Corey Foster, or other community members
- Fake reviews, fabricated purchase history, or coordinated rating manipulation
- Claiming early-access information you do not have
Drop security violations
Early access is earned and entrusted. Sharing it publicly before launch day is a breach of that trust.
- Posting unreleased product images, pricing, or pre-order links before public launch
- Sharing access codes or invite links outside the community
- Coordinating public leaks with outside parties
Off-platform solicitation
Community channels are for community — not for routing members off-platform.
- Directing members to competitor brands
- Sharing personal contact information to bypass SkyyRose channels
- Arranging transactions outside skyyrose.co
Section 5: Content Standards
Format: Rules for specific content types. Brief, specific.
User-generated content (fit pics, styling posts, UGC)
- Posts must feature SkyyRose products that you actually own and purchased
- Credit the photographer if someone else took your photo
- By posting, you grant SkyyRose permission to reshare with credit on brand social channels
- Products must be represented accurately — no misleading alterations or color-correcting that misrepresents the garment
Product reviews
- Reviews must reflect your genuine experience with the product
- Include the specific product name (not the SKU) and your actual use case
- Coordinated review campaigns — positive or negative — violate these guidelines
Community discussions
- Stay in the correct channel; off-topic posts will be redirected
- No spoilers for unreleased collections without a clear spoiler warning
- Moderators may edit or remove posts that violate these standards with or without notice
Section 6: Enforcement
Format: Graduated enforcement table + plain description.
| Level | What triggers it | Action |
|---|
| Redirect | First-time guideline friction (wrong channel, minor off-topic) | Friendly redirect by a moderator |
| Warning | First rule violation (spam, self-promo, minor disrespect) | Content removed + private DM with explanation |
| Temporary suspension | Repeat violations or first serious violation | 7-30 day ban from the community |
| Permanent ban | Sustained harassment, cultural disrespect, drop security violation, or 3+ warnings | Account removed from all SkyyRose community spaces |
| Immediate permanent ban | Threats, doxxing, illegal activity, or severe cultural harm | No warnings — immediate removal; reported to platform if applicable |
Plain description following the table:
"Most violations are honest mistakes. We redirect before we warn, and we warn before we ban. Cultural disrespect and drop security violations are the exceptions — those result in immediate removal because they harm real people and real trust. We enforce these guidelines consistently. The same rule applies to a founding member as it does to someone who joined yesterday."
Section 7: Reporting
Format: Numbered steps + commitment statement.
How to report a guideline violation:
1. Use the "Report" function in Discord/Circle, or email community@skyyrose.co
2. Describe what happened — include a link or screenshot if you have one
3. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours
4. You'll receive a notification when action is taken
5. All reports are confidential — we do not share the reporter's identity
We do not act on anonymous accusations without corroborating evidence.
We do act quickly on reports involving cultural harm or harassment.
Section 8: Appeals
Format: Numbered steps + scope statement.
If you believe a moderation action was made in error:
1. Email appeals@skyyrose.co within 14 days of the action
2. State what happened and why you believe the decision was incorrect
3. Include any evidence that supports your case
4. A different team member (not the original moderator) reviews your appeal
5. We respond within 5 business days
6. The appeal decision is final
Appeals are not available for:
→ Permanent bans for cultural disrespect (Rule 5 violations)
→ Threats, doxxing, or illegal activity
→ Drop security violations (founding member compact breaches)
Section 9: Updates
Format: Brief statement.
"We update these guidelines as the community grows. When we make material changes, we post an announcement in #announcements (Discord/Circle) and update the published date below. Continued participation after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines."
Published: [DATE]
Last revised: [DATE]
Output Format Requirements
| Format | Specification |
|---|
| Web page | Plain HTML, no inline styles. H1 for document title, H2 for each section, H3 for subsections. Maximum 2000 words. |
| Discord pinned summary | 10-bullet plain-language version, under 400 characters per bullet, posted in #welcome. Links to full guidelines page on skyyrose.co. |
| PDF | Formatted version of the web page for download. Include SkyyRose logo (lockup, not type-rendered collection name) and Luxury Grows from Concrete. as footer. |
Example: Opening Paragraph (Corey's Voice)
"SkyyRose is built on The Town — Oakland, California. Every piece, every collection, every person who wears this brand carries that with them.
The Concrete Garden and every other space where SkyyRose community happens online is an extension of that. These guidelines are how we protect it. Not from criticism — we want honest feedback. From the kind of behavior that makes spaces feel unsafe and makes community impossible.
These apply to everyone: founding members, new customers, lurkers, and anyone who represents SkyyRose online. If you're here, these are the rules.
Luxury Grows from Concrete."
Anti-Patterns
- Legalese introduction — "By accessing this platform, you hereby agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions..." is not SkyyRose. Write it like you'd say it to someone in The Town.
- Vague "be respectful" without specifics — "Respect others" is unenforceable. Define what disrespect looks like in this specific community context, especially around cultural respect.
- No explicit cultural protection clause — a generic platform's guidelines can be generic. SkyyRose's cannot. The culture this brand represents must be explicitly protected, not covered by a catch-all.
- Treating founding members as exempt — the guidelines apply to everyone. Stating this explicitly prevents the "but I've been here since day one" argument.
- Enforcement table without plain language — tables are scannable but cold. Follow every enforcement table with a plain-language paragraph that sounds human.
- Drop security buried in general "content standards" — drop security violations are a top-level category for this brand. They warrant their own prohibited-behavior section.
- Appeals with no scope limitations — saying "you can appeal any decision" invites bad-faith appeals from permanently banned members. Define clearly what is and is not appealable.
- No published date or update protocol — guidelines without a version date feel like they haven't been touched. Communities trust guidelines that show evidence of care and revision.
Recovery
- Community pushback on new or updated guidelines: Publish a brief explanation from Corey about why the change was made. Reference the specific incidents or growth moments that prompted it. Provide a 30-day grace period for minor rule changes.
- Enforcement feels inconsistent after guidelines are published: The internal moderation playbook (
skyyrose-social-community-moderation) must match the public guidelines. If they diverge, update both simultaneously and document the change.
- A member doesn't understand why they were flagged: The violation notification DM must cite the specific guideline violated (section and rule), the content in question, and the action taken. Vague notifications generate appeals.
- Guidelines feel too long for the audience: Publish a 10-bullet quick-reference version in #welcome on Discord. Link to the full document for details. The quick-reference is what members read; the full document is what enforcement references.
- Legal review required: Note clearly in internal docs that these guidelines are a community standards document, not a terms of service. For binding legal terms, consult legal counsel before publishing on skyyrose.co.
