Buyer's Premium Reverse Math
Buyer's premium reduces seller's effective price. Different houses: Heritage 20%, Goldin 20%, eBay 0% (10-13% seller fee instead).
Buyer's premium impact
$1,000 hammer at:
- Goldin (20% BP): buyer pays $1,200. Seller nets $1,000 (no seller fee at Goldin)
- Heritage (20% BP): buyer pays $1,200. Seller nets $1,000
- PWCC (20% BP): buyer pays $1,200. Seller nets $800-1,000 (tiered seller fee)
- eBay (no BP, 10-13% seller fee): buyer pays $1,000. Seller nets $870-900
Effective compare
At $1,000 hammer:
- Goldin/Heritage: seller nets $1,000
- PWCC: seller nets $800-1,000 (tier-dependent)
- eBay: seller nets $870-900
Goldin/Heritage best for sellers on equal-hammer comps. eBay competitive when BP elsewhere lifts buyer cost above eBay comps.
When to factor BP
Always reverse-math when comping. eBay comp $1,000 ≠ Goldin comp $1,000. The Goldin comp includes 20% BP, so equivalent buyer cost is $1,200 — eBay's $1,000 BIN is a better buy.
