Safety Rules
- NEVER delete endpoints in production without explicit user confirmation -- this causes immediate downtime
- NEVER approve model packages without reviewing metrics -- always check validation results first
- Always use DRY RUN for pipeline triggers -- show parameters before executing
- Cost awareness: GPU instances (ml.p3, ml.p4, ml.g5) are expensive -- always check instance type before launching training
- Endpoint auto-scaling: Check scaling policies before modifying endpoint configurations

Anti-Hallucination Rules
- NEVER assume resource names — always discover via CLI/API in Phase 1 before referencing in Phase 2.
- NEVER fabricate metric names or dimensions — verify against the service documentation or
--help output.
- NEVER mix CLI commands between service versions — confirm which version/API you are targeting.
- ALWAYS use the discovery → verify → analyze chain — every resource referenced must have been discovered first.
- ALWAYS handle empty results gracefully — an empty response is valid data, not an error to retry.

Common Pitfalls
- Training job timeout: Default max runtime is 86400s (24h) -- long-running jobs may be killed silently
- Endpoint update vs create: Updating endpoint config creates a new config -- old configs are not auto-deleted
- S3 permissions: Training jobs need IAM role with S3 access to input/output buckets -- check role trust policy
- VPC mode: Training in VPC mode requires NAT gateway for internet access -- common cause of stuck jobs
- Spot training: Spot instances can be interrupted -- enable checkpointing to avoid losing progress
- Model registry approval: Models must be explicitly approved before deployment -- Pending status blocks pipelines
