| description | Operate an active partnership through shared goals, ownership, enablement, launch, reporting, issue escalation, opportunity development, renewal, and exit so the relationship creates measurable value after the agreement is signed. |
Partner Success Plan
Use when a partnership has been approved and needs ongoing operational ownership.
Procedure
- Restate shared outcomes, customer or audience value, commitments, scope, success measures, term, and decision owners from the accepted agreement.
- Build a responsibility map for integration, content, launches, support, sales or marketing enablement, reporting, finance, data, and governance as relevant.
- Define onboarding and enablement so both organizations know the product, message, process, contacts, and escalation paths they need.
- Establish operating cadence for status, metrics, issues, pipeline or opportunities, roadmap dependencies, and upcoming joint actions without meeting by habit.
- Track promised and actual contribution from both sides and surface slippage before it becomes relationship resentment.
- Measure customer outcomes and partnership value, not only activity such as leads exchanged or meetings held.
- Maintain issue and escalation paths for technical, customer, commercial, brand, security, or operational failures.
- Periodically decide expand, maintain, renegotiate, or exit based on evidence and capture lessons for future partnership selection.
Decision rules
- Signing is the start of partnership operations, not the finish line.
- Shared metrics should represent customer and business value for both parties.
- Relationship health cannot substitute for unfulfilled commitments indefinitely.
- Exit can be the correct outcome when the partnership no longer creates mutual value.
Quality gate
The partnership is operating well when responsibilities and cadence are clear, both sides deliver agreed contributions, customer and business outcomes are measurable, issues escalate predictably, and renewal or expansion decisions can be made from evidence rather than relationship inertia.
