- Visualize the workflow: Make all work visible. Hidden work is unmanaged work.
- Limit Work in Progress (WIP): The single most impactful practice. Start with WIP = team size, then reduce.
- Manage flow: Measure and optimize cycle time, not utilization.

- Red flags: flat lines (blocked work), sudden drops (batch completions), upward spikes (scope creep)
Release Burndown: Remaining scope vs. sprints
- Track scope changes separately from completion
- Show both "work added" and "work completed" to make scope creep visible

- Y-axis: cumulative work
