Instead of creating duplicate or variant skills, this workflow ensures proper integration of existing skills into the current research session while maintaining repository consistency and knowledge base completeness.

When to Use This Skill

• Running automated arXiv discovery cron jobs for neuroscience papers
• Finding papers that already have skills in the ai_collection repository
• Needing to sync existing skills to local environment for current session use
• Updating INDEX.md with rediscovered paper entries
• Maintaining consistent knowledge graph and Obsidian notes for existing skills

Core Workflow Steps

1. Verify Paper Has Existing Skill

Check if the paper already exists in the ai_collection repository:

grep -c "ARXIV_ID" /Users/hiyenwong/ai_github/ai_collection/INDEX.md

If count > 0, proceed with integration workflow instead of skill creation.

2. Sync Skill to Local Environment

Copy the existing skill from repository to local skills directory:

mkdir -p /Users/hiyenwong/.hermes/skills/ai_collection/{skill-name}
cp -r /Users/hiyenwong/ai_github/ai_collection/collection/skills/{skill-name}/* /Users/hiyenwong/.hermes/skills/ai_collection/{skill-name}/

3. Update Current INDEX.md

Add the paper entry to the current date's section in INDEX.md:

• Locate current neuroscience section header
• Insert properly formatted entry with title, skill link, description, core要点, and activation keywords
• Follow exact formatting used by existing entries

4. Commit Repository Changes

5. Create Comprehensive Documentation
