Step 1 — Perform Risk Stratification

Classify the patient using AACVPR risk categories:

Low risk:

• No significant LV dysfunction (LVEF ≥50%)
• No resting or exercise-induced complex arrhythmias
• No symptoms at ≥7 METs
• Uncomplicated MI, CABG, or PCI
• Appropriate hemodynamic response to exercise

Time:

Step 3 — Monitor Hemodynamic Response During Exercise

Required monitoring parameters:

• Heart rate (resting, peak exercise, recovery)
• Blood pressure (resting, peak exercise, post-cool-down)
