First Principles

GOOD APIs ARE:
• Predictable   - Behavior matches expectations
• Consistent    - Same patterns everywhere
• Simple        - Easy to use, hard to misuse
• Evolvable     - Can change without breaking
• Documented    - Self-describing where possible
