# `mcp-data-source-probe` has moved
**This repository is archived.** The skill now lives in
[`mcp-audit`](https://github.com/malkreide/mcp-audit-skill), under
[`skills/mcp-data-source-probe/`](https://github.com/malkreide/mcp-audit-skill/tree/main/skills/mcp-data-source-probe).
```bash
git clone https://github.com/malkreide/mcp-audit-skill.git
cp -r mcp-audit-skill/skills/mcp-data-source-probe ~/.claude/skills/mcp-data-source-probe
```
The directory name must be `mcp-data-source-probe` — skill discovery uses it.
## Why
Five repositories carried the MCP quality chain, each with its own check
harness: four copies of the same registry, the same runner, the same ruff
gates. The consolidation reduced that to **two** — `mcp-audit` for the
catalogue and all four skills, `mcp-continuous-auditor` for the runtime that
keeps re-running them.
What the merge bought, measured rather than claimed: one harness instead of
four, 53 check registrations on 26 implementations, and the catalogue-drift
apparatus (640 lines of weekly fetch, pinned commit and env plumbing) gone —
the table and the catalogue it describes now sit in the same commit, so the
drift is a property of the diff instead of elapsed time.
The full record is in
[`docs/consolidation/MERGE-PLAN.md`](https://github.com/malkreide/mcp-audit-skill/blob/main/docs/consolidation/MERGE-PLAN.md).
## What is still here
The history — every commit, every release up to **v1.7.0**, every tag.
Archiving keeps it readable; that is why this repository was archived rather
than deleted. The `CHANGELOG.md` next to this file ends at v1.7.0; from
there on, this skill's entries continue in
[`skills/mcp-data-source-probe/CHANGELOG.md`](https://github.com/malkreide/mcp-audit-skill/blob/main/skills/mcp-data-source-probe/CHANGELOG.md).
Its checks continue too, as suite `probe` — `9` of them, run by
`python -m tools.harness --suite probe` alongside the other three. The ones
that are missing from that count were not dropped: they asked about the
*repository* rather than the skill, and in one repository they exist once
instead of four times. Each gap is named, with its new home, in that suite's
`ABSORBED` table.
