Calculator Audit — Complete Skill

The 5-Dimension Audit (must all pass before marking complete)

Dimension 1: Theory Depth (target ≥ 11 sections)

Count sections in TheoryTab.tsx. For each, check:

• Has clear heading
• Has explanation paragraph (accessible to non-expert)
• Has formula in proper KaTeX (no ad-hoc spans)
• Has term table: Symbol | Name | Meaning | Imperial | SI
• Formula is mathematically complete (all assumptions stated)

Required sections for any structural calc:

1. Introduction / What This Calculator Does
2. Governing Equation (primary formula)
3. Cross-Section Properties (I, S, Z, J, Q)
4. Material Properties (E, Sy, Sut, Se)
5. Failure Modes Overview
6. Stress Concentrations (Kt, Kf)
7. Combined Loading (if applicable)
8. Factor of Safety
9. Deflection / Deformation
10. Design Code References (AISC, ASME, etc.)
11. Worked Example (fully numerical) 12+ Additional: boundary conditions, assumptions, special cases

Dimension 2: Diagrams (target ≥ 2 in Results + ≥ 2 in Theory)

For each SVG diagram, check:

• Uses v3 layered pattern (SVG shapes + HTML overlay labels)
• Has horizontal scroll wrapper (minWidth:720 for mobile)
• Labels never overlap diagram lines (v3 pattern prevents this)
• Labels update reactively with calculator inputs
• High resolution (not pixelated — proper SVG, not raster)
• Has color zones that match the physics (stress zones, etc.)
• Interactive elements where appropriate (clickable sections, modes)
• Theory diagrams use v3 label pattern OR pure SVG with lbl() equivalent

Dimension 3: Design Tools (exactly 6 panels)

Count panels in DesignTab.tsx:

• Panel 1: Solve for target stress → required dimension
• Panel 2: Solve for Factor of Safety → required capacity
• Panel 3: Solve for deflection → required stiffness
• Panel 4: Solve for max span → given loading
• Panel 5: Solve for max load → given geometry
• Panel 6: Solve for target utilization → find section Each panel must: auto-calc on input, show units, reference the engine solve function.

Dimension 4: Sidebar (target ≥ 4 sections)

Check Sidebar.tsx:

• Section ≥ 1: Primary inputs (load, geometry)
• Section ≥ 2: Material / section type selector
• Section ≥ 3: Unit system toggle or dropdowns
• Section ≥ 4: Options / advanced (boundary conditions, etc.)
• Each input: has label, unit dropdown, reasonable default value
• Sidebar is sticky (doesn't scroll away on long theory tab)

Dimension 5: Chart Panels (exactly 4 in 2×2 grid)

Check ChartTab.tsx:

• 4 canvas charts in 2×2 grid layout
• Each chart: has title, x-axis label, y-axis label
• Charts are interactive (hover tooltip, zoom if applicable)
• Charts update when inputs change
• Charts cover: parametric sweep, comparison, S-N or capacity curve, efficiency/utilization
• Description paragraph below each chart

Cross-Sibling Consistency Audit

After auditing target calculator, also check these in the same session:

• CSS: same indigo accent (#4f46e5), Inter + JetBrains Mono fonts
• Tab names: Results, Theory, Chart, Compare, Design (exact)
• Auto-calc: no Calculate button on ANY calculator
• Section selector in Compare uses CURRENT type (not hardcoded W)
• All metric/imperial display in outputs
