Decision workflow
1. Always check the library first
Before adding anything, confirm it isn't already tracked.
- TV:
sonarr_search_library with the title.
- Movie:
radarr_search_library with the title.
If a close match exists, report it (monitored state, file/episode counts) and ask
whether the user wants something different rather than adding a duplicate.
2. Resolve the exact title
Use the lookup tool to get an unambiguous external id:
- TV:
sonarr_lookup_series → choose the candidate with the right year/network; keep its tvdbId.
- Movie:
radarr_lookup_movie → choose by year; keep its tmdbId.
If several candidates match (remakes, same-name shows), show the top few and let the
user pick. The lookup result's alreadyAdded: true means it's already in the library.
3. Choose destination + quality
Only call *_list_profiles_and_folders if the user cares or there is more than one
option. Otherwise the add tools default to the first profile and first root folder,
which is correct for most single-library setups. Never invent a profile/folder name.
4. Add it
- TV:
sonarr_add_series with tvdbId (preferred). Set monitor ("all" default,
or "future"/"firstSeason"/"latestSeason" if the user only wants part of it).
- Movie:
radarr_add_movie with tmdbId.
Set searchNow: true only if the user wants to start grabbing immediately. For a
brand-new show with a long back-catalogue, ask first — a full-season search can grab
a lot at once.
5. Confirm
Report what was added: title, where it landed (root folder), quality profile, and
whether a search was kicked off. If searchNow was true, suggest sonarr_queue /
radarr_queue to watch progress.
