Design the talk around what the evidence establishes and what the audience needs to understand, not the order the research was performed.

Procedure

1. Confirm audience, purpose, format, duration, venue, submission rules, and discussion time.
2. Write the central question, one-sentence answer, contribution, and most important limitation.
3. Select only the background, methods, evidence, and counterevidence needed to support that answer.
4. Build a narrative of question, why it matters, approach, findings, uncertainty, implications, and next work.
5. Redraw tables and charts for projection with units, denominators, sources, uncertainty, and honest axes.
6. Put citations beside claims and create a reference or methods handout for details.
7. Distinguish results from interpretation and calibrate causal or general claims.
8. Prepare concise answers for methods, limitations, conflicting evidence, ethics, and unknowns.
9. Rehearse aloud to time, record one pass, and test the actual display, audio, files, links, and fallback copy.

Failure plan

• Do not shrink unreadable papers or spreadsheets onto slides.
• Never omit inconvenient results or limitations needed to interpret the conclusion.
• If confidentiality prevents disclosure, state the boundary rather than implying evidence the audience cannot inspect.
• When a question exceeds the evidence, say what is known and what would be required to answer.
