| name | release-readiness-and-ship-gates |
| description | Use when preparing to merge, ship, deploy, publish, hand off, or declare done. Applies release readiness dashboards, changelog discipline, deploy/canary/post-release checks, rollback readiness, evidence classification, and APIVR release-gate enforcement. |
| activation | Activate when the description trigger applies to the current task. |
| required_inputs | Task request, relevant repository context, constraints, and authority dependencies. |
| required_outputs | Skill-specific artifact, verification evidence, canonical verdict, and next action. |
| authority_dependencies | 00_start_here/SOURCE_OF_TRUTH.md; 10_governance/APIVR_EXECUTION_LIFECYCLE.md; 10_governance/source_of_truth/Elite_Build_Goals_v3.md. |
| evidence_requirements | Executed checks or an honest Unknown, Not Run, or Blocked state for every material claim. |
Release Readiness And Ship Gates
Use during APIVR Phase 5 Verify Implementation and Phase 6 Re-Audit.
Do not say shipped, done, ready, or PASS while any applicable release gate is failed, unknown, not run, or blocked without named risk acceptance.

Required Outputs
- Release gate table.
- Evidence ledger or security evidence ledger when applicable.
- Rollback trigger and restoration path.
- Changelog or user-facing note when behavior changes.
- 20 Pass Protocol summary when final release instructions, rollback instructions, launch prompts, source-file changes, or signoff claims are high-stakes.
- Post-release verification horizon for production changes.
- External integration launch gate verdict when provider callbacks, webhooks, cron routes, OAuth/Auth redirects, payment/email/SMS providers, deployment protection, or Preview/Production environment separation are in scope.
- Compound-learning decision for Standard and above: update canonical guidance, create a solved-problem learning entry, schedule knowledge refresh, or do not preserve.
Worked Example
Scenario: Shipping a subscription cancellation fix.
- Gate C: auth and permission tests verified.
- Gate D: duplicate cancellation and billing reconciliation verified.
- Gate E: rollback is feature-flag disable plus previous handler restore.
- Gate H: evidence ledger complete.
- Compound learning: capture the provider replay lesson only if it is not already covered by canonical external API guidance.
- Verdict:
PASS after targeted tests and provider sandbox replay are Verified.
Scenario: Shipping a Stripe webhook or OAuth callback.
- External integration launch gate applies.
- Gate C: provider route contract proves no human login is required and provider signature/state validation remains enforced.
- Gate E: provider dashboard delivery into the deployed URL is verified; no 307
/login, Vercel protection block, or wrong-domain redirect remains.
- Gate H: provider event ID, deployed URL, database effect, app log, and user-visible proof are recorded.
- Verdict: only after the real deployed provider-to-app path is Verified.
