Submission Packaging Discipline
Bad packaging is the #1 cause of pre-grade damage. The protocol is small but rigid.
The standard packaging stack
- Card in penny sleeve (perfect-fit)
- Card+sleeve in semi-rigid (Card Saver I for vintage/raw; perfect-fit toploader fine for modern)
- Bundle of 25-50 in stack-strap or sandwich between cardboard
- Bundle in bubble wrap (2+ layers)
- Outer box: rigid corrugated, ample peanut/airpillow fill
- Tape: 3M packing tape, ALL seams
Never ship in plain top loader — pressure flexes the corners.
PSA-specific shipping requirements
- Use PSA submission form (printed, signed)
- Track and insure full declared value
- USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground (avoid Express overnight — sorting is rougher)
- PSA address: 1610 E Saint Andrew Pl, Santa Ana, CA 92705
Insurance and signature
Always require signature on delivery. Insure to full declared value. Save tracking + receipt. Most lost-card disputes resolve in submitter's favor with these records.
