Saas Pricing Page Best Practices
The pricing page is the second-most-trafficked marketing page. Buyers in research mode spend serious time here. Make it work.
Tier count
3 tiers = sweet spot. 4 tiers when you have a clear free + 3 paid. 5+ tiers when audience genuinely segments (Direct + Partner). More than 5 = decision paralysis.
Featured tier
Always highlight one tier. The one you actually want most customers on (usually middle). Different border, slight elevation, different CTA color.
'Contact sales' tier
Acceptable for true enterprise (custom contracts, $50K+ ACV). NOT acceptable for sub-$10K ACV — hides pricing from prospects, signals you're either expensive or unsure.
Annual toggle
Default to annual. Show savings explicitly. Display monthly equivalent. Smooth animation on price change.
Below the table
FAQ specific to pricing concerns. Feature comparison matrix. ROI calculator. Customer logos. Final CTA repeated.
Common mistakes
All tiers identical visually. Pricing only annual (no monthly). Custom enterprise with no anchor. No comparison context. Price jump cliffs between tiers.
