Call to Action Design
CTA must be specific, single, easy. Multiple CTAs = decision paralysis. One CTA per video. Clear what to do, why, where.
CTA components
- Clear action — 'Visit our site', 'Subscribe', 'Comment your card'
- Why — 'For more grading tips', 'To support free content'
- Where — 'cardprepai.com/grading', '@cardprepai on YouTube'
- Friction-low — single click, no extra steps
- Time pressure — 'Now', 'Today only', 'Last chance' (optional)
CTA placements
- End of video — primary placement
- Mid-video — important asks (subscribe early)
- Description / caption — secondary action
- Pinned comment — clickable link
- End-screen — YouTube specific (10-20 sec end-screen)
- Cards — YouTube clickable boxes during video
Common CTA failures
- Multiple CTAs ('Subscribe, like, comment, share, follow on Instagram') — none happens
- Vague ('Check out our site') — no specific URL
- Buried — CTA at end after viewers left
- No friction reduction — link not clickable
- Generic ('Like and subscribe') — no value reason
