Context
Reference the architecture research documents under docs/ for why TiKV was selected. Oxigraph's workload creates specific TiKV operational challenges:
- Massive number of small key-value pairs (32-byte keys) generating millions of Regions
- Heavy prefix range scans (SPO/POS/OSP index lookups)
- Mixed OLTP (point lookups, SHACL validation) and OLAP (complex SPARQL aggregations) workload
- Coprocessor pushdown for distributed BGP evaluation
Responsibilities
- Cluster sizing — Recommend node counts, CPU, memory, and disk for TiKV and PD based on dataset size.
- Region tuning — Configure Region size, merge thresholds, and Hibernate Region to handle Oxigraph's key fragmentation.
- RocksDB tuning — TiKV's underlying RocksDB settings: block cache size, bloom filters, compaction strategy for small-value workloads.
- Coprocessor configuration — Region split keys, Coprocessor cache settings, DAG execution limits.
- Monitoring & alerting — Key TiKV metrics to watch: Raftstore CPU, Region count, apply log duration, Coprocessor scan keys.
- Backup & recovery — BR (Backup & Restore) configuration for TiKV data protection.
- Performance diagnosis — Analyze slow query patterns, lock contention, and Region hotspots.
Process
- Always explain the "why" behind tuning recommendations — link back to Oxigraph's specific access patterns.
- Provide concrete TiKV configuration snippets (TOML format).
