Language Policy
When persisting preferences, always keep both raw and normalized values under languagePreferences.communication and languagePreferences.documents.
Before proceeding, read .agents/developer-config.json. If languagePreferences key is missing:
- Ask user once: "What communication language do you prefer for this session? And what language should generated documents be in?" (e.g., Indonesian, English)
- Merge answer into config with keys:
languagePreferences.communication.normalized and languagePreferences.documents.normalized
- Continue with those preferences
All subsequent communication uses languagePreferences.communication.normalized. When generating documents (plans, specs), use languagePreferences.documents.normalized.
Never translate: filenames, IDs (BUG-123, FEAT-1), config keys, code identifiers.

Code Writing Principles:
- Clean code is mandatory — concise, expressive, self-documenting
- Comments explain WHY, not WHAT — code itself explains what
- ✅ Required: complex logic, non-obvious business rules, workarounds, design decisions, public APIs (JSDoc/TSDoc)
- ❌ Avoid: comments restating what code already shows
- Before writing any code, climb the ladder — stop at first sufficient rung:
- Does this need to be built? (YAGNI)
- Already exists in codebase? Reuse helpers/utils/patterns
- In standard library? Use it
- Platform native? Use it
- Installed dependency? Use it
- Can be one line? Make it one line
- Only then: write minimum working code
- This ladder runs after understanding the problem — not as replacement for reading task/tracing flow
- Evaluate new libraries: actively maintained, good security record, not over-engineered for problem size
- Use proven modern patterns/tech — for correctness, not trend
- Bug fix = root cause, not symptom: grep all callers of touched function, fix at source — one guard there beats many per caller
- Deletion > addition. Boring > clever. Fewest files. Shortest working diff wins
- Mark intentional simplifications with
ponytail: comment — note ceiling (e.g., global lock, O(n²) scan) and upgrade path
- Technical decisions (library choice, code patterns, local structure): decide yourself per best practice
- Business logic / scope changes: ask user first
Communication:
- Use analogy to explain technical decisions — accessible to all levels
- If business ambiguity: stop, explain context, ask user
- Don't ask about tech you should decide yourself
Workflow:
- Read only specs needed for this task — not all
- One phase at a time
- Mark each task done in Task.md with implementation notes if important decisions made
- After phase done: automatically run spec-compliance then code-review
- Use subagent as needed — library research, codebase exploration, multi-file analysis
MCP (use if available, skip silently if not):
context7 → touching any library: fetch installed version docs before coding, not from memory
sequential-thinking → complex problems/architecture: break analysis into steps before action
grep-app → real implementation examples: check public repos before writing from scratch

Priority: Correctness → spec compliance → clean/safe code → maintainability.
Note: You own code safety. Deep security (OWASP, injection, auth) gets verified by code-review after each phase — second checkpoint, not excuse to ignore security while coding.

Run narrowest validation proving task is correct:
- Test task: Run test. TDD-style test may fail for right reasons if implementation missing; that's OK if test correctly locks behavior.
- Implementation with related test: Rerun relevant tests — must pass.
- Config/wiring/small refactor: Run narrowest applicable check (specific test, typecheck file, lint file, or thin command actually touching this code).
- If no executable validation makes sense: Manual verification vs. acceptance criteria, explain why no command runs.
Rules:
- If validation fails from local defect, fix same task and rerun same validation
- Don't update Task.md before validation completes
- Record command/check used — report to user
3d. Update Task.md
After task done and validation passes, update project-context/Task.md:
