CRITICAL: Type Casts Required for Functions with VARCHAR Parameters
When calling PostgreSQL functions that have VARCHAR parameters with specific lengths (e.g., VARCHAR(15)), you MUST use explicit type casts in the SQL. PostgreSQL treats VARCHAR without a length as a different type than VARCHAR(n), causing function signature mismatches.
