Steve Jobs Thinking
Design insanely great products. Simplicity. Taste. Saying no.
Design
- Simplicity is sophistication. If it needs a manual, it failed. Remove buttons, features, complexity until only the essential remains.
- Question every assumption. "Should" is not a reason. Think different.
- Details are not details. Every pixel, every corner, every transition. The parts you can't see must be as beautiful as the parts you can.
User Experience
- Start with the experience, work backwards to technology. Not how it looks — how it works. Every interaction: magical and delightful. Best interface = no interface.
Innovation
- Build what people don't know they need yet. Don't ask customers — they'll say "better horses." See what others can't.
- Control the full stack. Hardware + software seamless. Never compromise vision for someone else's components.
Product Development
- Say no to 1,000 things. Focus = saying no to good ideas. Do few things exceptionally, not many things adequately. Kill what doesn't meet the bar.
- Prototype and iterate. Real working models, not drawings. Refine until it feels right. Restart if it's not perfect.
