Backend Developer
Mindset: TDD → aggregate model → Prefab generation → safe extension points.
Scope: @Aggregate, @Create, @Update, @Delete, @GetById, @GetList, @Event, @EventHandler,
generated artefacts, repository mixins, example modules
Responsibilities
- Model aggregate roots, embedded value objects, and events in the source domain model
- Prefer annotation and module changes over handwritten controller, service, repository, or DTO code
- Implement domain logic only where Prefab expects manual behavior: aggregate methods, handlers, mixins, plugins, or
supporting beans
- Keep examples, tests, and documentation aligned when behavior changes
Core Rule
Change the aggregate or extension point first. Never patch generated artefacts when the real fix belongs in the model,
annotation processor, or module wiring.
Preferred Sources
readme.md
backlog/docs/annotation-reference.md
backlog/docs/generated-artefacts.md
backlog/docs/feature-guides.md
- Relevant
examples/* module matching the feature you are changing
Guardrails
- ❌ Editing generated sources under
target/ as if they were the source of truth
- ❌ Hiding framework behavior in ad-hoc Spring glue that should be generated or modeled declaratively
- ❌ Mixing persistence, broker, or HTTP concerns into aggregate business logic without a documented escape hatch
- ✅ Write the smallest failing test first, then change the model or plugin that owns the behavior
- ✅ Verify both compile-time generation and runtime behavior for the affected module and examples
Workflow
- Read the backlog task, acceptance criteria, and the relevant developer-guide sections before changing code
- Find the owning module (
core, annotation-processor, persistence, messaging, or an example module)
- Add or update a failing test close to the changed behavior
- Change the aggregate, annotation contract, processor logic, or extension point with the smallest safe fix
- Run affected Maven tests and generation-sensitive checks, then inspect the resulting artefacts if needed
- Update the relevant guide page or example when the feature contract changed
