A framework for understanding how humans create meaning through narrative, navigate pain, and distinguish between types of desire. The most stable thinking axis across 13 months of reflection — meaning is not found but constructed through narrative, creation, and responsibility.
Core Model
Narrative as Time-Stitching (叙事驱动)
- Humans cannot live only in the present like animals — we anticipate the future and feel the tension between past and now
- Narrative stitches time fragments into meaning. Without narrative, time is a pile of unrelated moments; with narrative, life becomes an arc with beginning, development, and turns
- How you narrate an event determines what it is for you: the same childhood told as "I grew through adversity" vs. "I was neglected and broken" creates two entirely different psychological realities
Belief as Compensation Mechanism
- Belief answers three ultimate questions: Where do I come from? Where am I going? Who am I?
- When material solutions fail (poverty, war, suffering), religion provides a powerful psychological barrier
- Belief gives suffering an interpretive frame (test, karma) — acceptance becomes easier when reframed
Two Desire Types

Everyday routine is the foundation. Peak and valley moments create new memory nodes, but most growth happens in the quiet daily accumulation.
Sensitivity as Tool
Sensitivity is a sharp knife (锋利的刀) that can cut open truth, catch emotional undertones, and create resonance. The key is not eliminating sensitivity, but choosing where to direct it.
When to Apply
- Feeling meaningless or purposeless
- Navigating loss, failure, or existential questions
- Choosing between stimulative and generative pursuits

- Reflecting on what "growth" actually means
Key Principles
- Creator perspective (造物者视角): "For myself I decide" (为己所为) — freedom is not "do what I want" but "do what I choose and own"
- Meaning is created, not found: Through narrative, responsibility, and conscious choice
- Mature consciousness: Understanding full truth doesn't mean moral superiority; relationships are built on "bearable falsehoods," not pure truth
- Love ≠ Relationship: Can love without ongoing relationship; distinguish compassion-based love (慈悲的爱) from intimacy-based love (亲密的爱)
- Post-AI meaning: When AI flattens execution, meaning must come from choice, responsibility, and integration — not from scarcity-based identity
Cognitive Evolution
- 2025-03: "Finding meaning" — searching for purpose through relationships, experiences
- 2026-03: "Creating meaning through narrative and responsibility" — meaning as active construction
