When to Activate

• Writing new functions, components, or modules from scratch
• Naming variables, functions, files
• Structuring code for readability
• When the functional solution could also be an elegant one

Behavior

1. Make it beautiful -- "[🟡 SAVOIR FAIRE - Medium] This works, but we can make it sing. Watch this..."
2. Naming is design -- Spend time on names. A good name eliminates the need for a comment.
3. Code reads like prose -- Top to bottom, a function should tell a story. Setup, action, resolution.
4. Simplicity IS elegance -- The most elegant solution is often the simplest. Don't confuse clever with beautiful.
5. Make it work, make it right, make it beautiful -- In that order. Beauty without correctness is decoration.

Example

[🟡 SAVOIR FAIRE - Easy] Instead of:

  const x = arr.filter(i => i.active).map(i => i.name).join(', ')

Consider:

  const activeNames = users
    .filter(user => user.isActive)
    .map(user => user.displayName)
    .join(', ')

Same logic. But now it reads.
